Kids Cook! Spring & Summer 2023 Class Schedule

Kids Cook! classes are held year-round. September through May we offer after-school and weekend classes. Our week-long summer camps are in June and July. We are closed in August and the last two weeks in December.

Note: Our small classes mean that everyone cooks! All our classes are totally hands-on. Plus, we serve fresh fruit and milk or water with all Kids Cook! menus.

At Kids Cook! we choose simple, and interesting, seasonal recipes and keep an eye on nutrition.  In each class we prepare 2-4 recipes, then set the table and taste what we have made.  We explore cooking tools and unusual ingredients.  We generally incorporate both savory and sweet, baking and cooking recipes. 

 

Kids Cook! Café  
July 17-21, 2023   5 days
9 am -11 am
Open to kids 7-9 years old
$190   Includes all supplies, ingredients, recipe book, cooking tool & snacks.

Maximum enrollment:  10 students.

Inspire your kid chef to be creative, to be confident in the kitchen and to develop healthy behavior patterns.  Students will learn about the ingredients, tools, equipment and skills that you need to be a chef.  They will practice safe cutting, measuring, combining, presentation and tasting.  The Café chefs will prepare and cook their creations.  Best of all:  There is a different themed café every day!  This camp is designed to encourage independence, to nurture interest in cooking, develop skills and have fun!  Students take home a recipe book, extra tastes and a cooking tool.  In accordance with our safety policies, students must be 7 by the first day of camp.

Kids Cook! Kitchen Chemistry
July 17-21, 2023   5 days
1 pm – 4 pm
Open to kids 10-12 years old
$285  Includes all supplies, ingredients, recipe book, cooking tool & snacks.

Maximum enrollment:  10 students.

Explore the science of cooking.  Experiment with ingredients.  Taste the flavor changes that take place when you combine and apply heat to those ingredients.  Create delicious meals.   Students learn to cut safely, combine, heat, chill, season and taste.  Lessons integrate academic components such as math, science, history, safety, hygiene & nutrition.  They will cook real food, learn how to make nutritious choices and build confidence in the kitchen, in a fun, relaxed environment.  Students take home a personalized recipe notebook, extra tastes and a cooking tool.  For kids who like tinkering with food.  In accordance with our safety policies, students must be 10 by the first day of camp.

Maximum enrollment:  10 students

Campers will receive hands-on training in the kitchen and along with cooking and food preparation skills while exploring cuisines from around the world including European, African, Asian and South American. 

For kids who like to mess around in the kitchen here’s a chance to try out a bunch of new stuff and to experiment with ingredients and recipes.  Learn methods and skills and use tools that enable you to feel confident creating in the kitchen.  All hands-on – we equip kids for their own culinary exploration.  We take requests.  If you let us know at least 10 days in advance, we will make every effort to accommodate your individual interest.  Kids Cook! Around the World includes visits to a local garden.  In accordance with our safety policies, students must be 9 by the first day of camp.

Fees are due at the time of sign-up in order to reserve your place.

The applicable, revised cancellation policy for classes at Eggshells is:  Fees are due at the time of sign-up in order to reserve your place.  In order to avoid being charged the full price of the class, cancellations must be made 7 days in advance. Registrations cancelled at least 7 days in advance will receive store credit.  In the event that Eggshells/Kids Cook! cancels the classes all fees will be refunded in full.
