- 3 cups fusilli noodles, uncooked
- 1 lb. ground turkey sausage
- ¼ t dried basil
- 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
- ¼ t dried oregano
- Pinch black pepper
- 4 cups tomato sauce
- 1/2 c. light sour cream
- 8 oz shredded mozzarella
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
Boil noodles in salted water until tender. Sauté sausage till brown. Drain. Lightly grease a 2 quart casserole and assemble as follows: tomato sauce, fusilli, layer of meat, layer of mozzarella, layer of sour cream, tomato sauce, meat, sprinkle seasonings over meat, mozzarella and remaining tomato sauce. Top with parmesan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Equipment: large pot, colander, electric skillet, 2 quart casserole dish or 10X15 glass baking dish. Requires an oven.
