Kids Cook!™ Summer 2020 Camp Schedule

Kids Cook!™ classes are held year round.  September through May we offer after-school and weekend classes.  Our week-long summer camps are in June and July.  We are closed the first two weeks in August and the last two weeks in December.

Enrollment is limited.  These classes will fill, so do not delay!

Note:  Our small classes mean that everyone cooks!   All our classes are totally hands-on. Plus, we serve fresh fruit and milk or water with all Kids Cook!™ menus.

Kids Cook!™ Café
June 22-26, 2020  (5 days)

9 am -11 am
Open to kids 6-8 years old
$159   Includes all supplies, ingredients, recipe book, cooking tool & snacks

Inspire your kid chef to be creative, to be confident in the kitchen and to develop healthy behavior patterns.  Students will learn about the ingredients, tools, equipment and skills that you need to be a chef.  They will practice safe cutting, measuring, combining, presentation and tasting.  The Café chefs will prepare, cook and serve their creations to their customers.  Best of all:  There is a different restaurant every day!  One day is Family Day where the families get to be customers and feast on fabulous food.   This class is designed to encourage independence, to nurture interest in cooking, develop skills and have fun!  Students take home a recipe book, extra tastes and a cooking tool.   Held at Episcopal Collegiate School, 1701 Cantrell Road, LR  72201    Open to non-ECS students. Kids Cook!™ Kitchen Chemistry
June 22-26, 2020   (5 days)

1 pm – 4 pm
Open to kids 9-12 years old

Explore the science of cooking.  Experiment with ingredients.  Taste the flavor changes that take place when you combine and apply heat to those ingredients.  Create delicious meals.   Students learn to cut safely, combine, heat, chill, season and taste.  Lessons integrate academic components such as math, science, history, safety, hygiene & nutrition.  They will cook real food, learn how to make nutritious choices and build confidence in the kitchen, in a fun, relaxed environment.  Students take home a personalized recipe notebook, extra tastes and a cooking tool.  For kids who like tinkering with food.  Held at Episcopal Collegiate School, 1701 Cantrell Road, LR  72201    Open to non-ECS students. Kids Cook!™ at Montessori
June 29-July 3, 2020   (5 days)

9 am – 10 am
Open to kids 4 – 6 years old

We practice making healthy snacks and meals.  In each class the children prepare one or two simple recipes, set the table and eat what they have made.  Each child has the opportunity to work through the process and practice the cooking skills.  The class is designed to encourage independence, develop skills, nurture interest in cooking and be fun.  Held at the Little Rock Montessori School, 3704 N. Kids Cook! Culinary Entrepreneur
July 6-10, 2020   (5 days)
2 pm – 4 pm
Open to kids 9-12 years old
$159    Includes all supplies, ingredients, recipe book, cooking tool & snacks

In this class the kids will develop a food cart “business” out of their cooking projects.  Along the way they will develop and test food products, create a plan and, of course, make samples to taste and market.  This class incorporates basic financial principles along with the cooking and is designed to encourage independence, to nurture interest in cooking, develop skills and have fun!  Friday will be Family Day and families will enjoy a meal prepared by the kids.  Kids take home extra tastes, recipes and a cooking tool.  Held at Episcopal Collegiate School, 1701 Cantrell Road, LR  72201   Open to non-ECS students.  Maximum enrollment:  12 students     Open to non-ECS students. Kids Cook!  Around the World  Session 1 
July 27-July 31, 2020   (5 days)
9 am – 12 pm

Open to kids 8 years old & up
$200   Includes all supplies, ingredients, activities, recipe book & snacks

Campers will receive hands-on training in the kitchen and along with cooking and food preparation skills while exploring various cuisines from around the world including Mexican, African, Italian and more!  Kids Cook! Around the World includes visits to a local garden and will culminate in a camper-prepared lunch for friends and family.     Held at Eggshells Kitchen Company, 5501 Kavanaugh Blvd, LR 72207   Maximum enrollment:  12 students   Register online hereIn accordance with our safety policies, students must be 8 by the first day of camp.  

 

Kids Cook!  Around the World  Session 2
July 27-July 31, 2020   (5 days)

Kids Cook!™ Cancellation Policy:  Fees are due at the time of sign-up in order to reserve your place.  In order to avoid being charged the full price of the class, cancellations must be made 10 days in advance. Registrations cancelled 10 days in advance will be refunded minus a $25 administrative fee.  In some cases, the sponsoring school or organization’s cancellation/refund policy may take precedence and a refund may not be available.  Inquire if you are uncertain.
